Adelaide acoustic luminary Josh Bennett is a master of strings, skins and hollow things, and is launching his latest CD at Fringe 2010. A musical journey on guitar, sitar, dilruba (sitar-violin), tabla, didgeridoo and stompbox, with throat-singing and Indian beat-boxing thrown in.

Recently returned from India, Josh has been touring Australia-wide and internationally for the last four years, performing at world music and folk festivals in India, USA, Canada, UK, Africa and Malaysia.

Whether picking up a storm with The Lawnmowers, exploring Indian raga with Dya Singh and The Silk Road Project, or taking music to the edge with Guitar Safari, Jaib Mai and the Supper Club, Josh has a unique musical story to tell. Key ingredients in this melting pot are Blues, Jazz, Indian, Celtic, African and Bluegrass.

Josh has studied sitar in India under Smt Manju Mehta, and has performed for Pt. Ravi Shankar at his home in Delhi, and at the Saptak Classical Music Festival in Ahmedabad.
