Special Guest: Timothy Ashton - photographer

Fauré - La Bonne Chanson Op 61 (arr Dean)
James Ledger - Abandoned Drive-In
Moussorgsky - Pictures at an Exhibition (arr Luff)

Outstanding young Brisbane photographer Timothy Ashton is our first-ever visual guest artist. Set the task of marrying his imaginative visual style to the hauntingly atmospheric music of James Ledger’s Abandoned Drive-In, Timothy Ashton has responded with an impressive series of photographs which will be projected during the performance to create a multi-media presentation of this work. Continuing in the same vein, the Soloists encore Peter Luff’s now celebrated arrangement of Moussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition with projections of some of the paintings by Viktor Hartmann, which inspired its composition. Beginning this visual and aural feast is a wonderful song cycle by Fauré, newly arranged for the Soloists by Paul Dean.
