Brian Kennedy, one of Ireland’s most loved and successful ambassadors of music, is returning to Australian shores for a national tour, including highly anticipated appearances at the 2010 Port Fairy Folk Festival. Brian’s latest concerts come on the back of his 2008 album, Interpretations, and will no doubt follow the now established local tradition with Australian audiences embracing Brian’s previous shows over two highly successful tours. Interpretations is Kennedy’s 10th album and, unusually for such a prolific songwriter, includes versions of 13 of the most popular chart-toppers of the past 30-odd years. From ‘Gaye’ to ‘Galileo’, ‘Brown-Eyed Girl’ to ‘You Are So Beautiful’, Brian makes these songs his own with some surprising and unique results. Live on stage, Brian Kennedy is the ultimate performer: from the second he bursts onto stage, grabs his guitar and belts out his first note with total commitment, you feel the energy, and your gut reaction tells you this is going to be one whirlwind, rollercoaster of a night.
