The Helpmann Award winning production by one of Australia's leading contemporary dance companies returns to QPAC. Set against the iconic remnants of an old Queenslander, with lyrics inspired by David Malouf's 12 Edmondstone Street , Where The Heart Is takes the audience on an emotional exploration into the notion of home. Told through the eyes of a young Queensland man, the heart-warming story unfolds with the six Expression Dance Company dancers portraying different members of the family. The young man reminisces of young love, treasured family moments and also of great sadness and turmoil. Natalie Weir's first full-length work as Artistic Director for Expressions Dance Company offers a clear and moving story skilfully told through the choreography. Whether a place of residence, refuge or comfort, home is where the heart is...a place that allows you to breath and to dream.
