This event has now passed

Learn how to create your very own debonair, dashing or dastardly characters! Working alongside author Dee White , young writers will discover the skills and techniques to create characters and plots and inhabit their own fictional world.

Using paintings and photographs to spark the imagination and evoke the seeds of compelling narratives, Dee will take young writers on a creative journey and into the minds of their characters. Inspired by photographs from State Librarys Heritage Collections and artworks from the Queensland Art Gallery, participants will be encouraged to observe details and write from new perspectives.

Dee White is a journalist and author, writing both fiction and non fiction for children. Dee Whites latest book for teenagers, the award winning Letters to Leonardo is a story of a 15 year old boy who writes to Leonardo da Vinci as a way to clear his head of confusion.
