During the World Dance Congress in Brisbane (14-18 July) QPAC will be presenting an exhibition celebrating indigenous dance in Australia - from the traditional dance of remote communities in Cape York to the dance of urban indigenous youth and the internationally acclaimed contemporary dance of Bangarra Dance Theatre. Work by Cairns-based photographer, Kerry Trapnell, documenting the Laura Dance Festival, the local environment and rock art, will be featured together with a large-screen DVD presentation Laura Legend & Lore. Related music and dance artefacts from the region will be included.

The exhibition is curated by QPAC Museum with the assistance of consultant Curator, Elverina Johnson, a Kuganji woman from Yarrabah who previously worked with QPAC Museum on the Blow 'im: Yarrabah Brass Band exhibition.
