They’re fresh, they’re free and they’re moving in. Fridays are about to get a lot more interesting as some of the best Indie-Pop bands around stake their claim on the Turbine Platform. No ‘one night only’ gigs here. Each band will have an entire month to capture the hearts of Brisbane music lovers with a set every week. So, if you’re liking what you hear, come back again and again.

March Resident: Asa Broomhall

Australia's favorite Rock/Roots larrikin; Asa Broomhall has done it again with his latest self-produced album 'Revelry Road'. Recorded live over 5 days in the farmhouse where Asa grew up on the Sunshine Coast. It builds on Asa's previous work by seamlessly combining full band tracks and solo acoustic songs showing the true depth of his songwriting and musicianship. You may say it is a Rock and Roll Record with a hint of Folk but it has elements of Blues, Country and even a bit of Calypso?. This album also features some of SE Qld's finest musicians on instruments such as Cello and Piano and an appearance on Guitar by one of Australia's most revered artists; Mark Lizotte (Diesel). On stage, Asa's dynamic live show has taken him from local venues and festivals to touring with national and international artists (including Evermore, Diesel, Pete Murray, Jeff Martin, Ian Moss, Chris Whitley, Kelly Joe Phelps…) and performing in the UK, Canada and the USA. And with 4 self funded, independent and self produced releases under his belt, Asa's dedication to his music and his live show is obvious. If you fancy a mix of Rock, Folk and Blues with a dose of mischief, make sure you hear Asa's music and experience one of Australia's best kept secrets, whether it be Solo Acoustic or fronting his powerful Trio, the Asa Broomhall Band.
