Great place to go if you really want tapas. I usually go with a vegetarian friend and a meat lover, and between us we get about 10 dishes, all of which make us happy. The wine isn't up to much, so I always drink beer. The service can be mixed speed wise but is always friendly. Prices are excellent. Definitely recommend to anyone.

Overall: Love it!

terrible service

Shocking service, consistently throughout the night, from all the staff. It was clear that there was no floor manager, as staff were wandering aimlessly.
The food was good, the music was a little to loud, but great.
Overall, we would really like to go again, but not willing to take a chance on the woeful service.
(please note: dining experience was in feb)

Nice: Food, Wine List, Music
So-so: Atmosphere, Value
Dodgy: Bar Service

I also think you should give it another try. I go regularly as I love it. The food is authentic, fresh and delilcious. It has the best Sangria outside Spain and the owners, Manolo and Sylvana are top people, dedicated to their art. There is quite a regualr staff turnover, but you'll find nearly all are Spanish speakers, which adds to the authenticity. I love the laid-back atmosphere which echoes its county of origin. I think if anyone had a gripe they could take it straight to the owner.

It takes a lot of hard work and effort to run a restaurant and at times, thankfully not often, it simply falls apart. I do agree that service always needs improvement but there are many other categories on which to rate a restaurant. The food is excellent so much so that it's comparable to a 5 star restaurant without the price tag.
There is also complimentary live entertainment on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings for you to enjoy your dining experience and much more.
I also recommend another try.

I think you must have caught Spanish Tapas on a bad night. I've been there many times, and whilst it's not 5 star posh service, it's still fair to good. The food and prices are the big stars though.

I recommend another try.

Great for a large Gathering

We had an excellent evening at the Spanish Tapas Bar, we were a party of 10 people and shared a hot tapas meat platter and a cold vege platter for starters. We also had some very Garlicy bread to soak up the various sauces, which also hit the spot. We couldn't stop drinking the Sangria like cordial...it was so refreshing. I think we ordered 5 bottles in the end. After the platters we each ordered a tapas. As a massive cheese lover, the Queso Frito (fried cheese) was fresh, hot and melt in your mouth. We sampled just about everything , its great going as a group of friends that are up for experimenting and trying new things.
At the end of the night we only spent $32 each, which was very surpising considering all the food we ordered and how much we drank! I will be back, I would like to be there when they have some flamenco dancing.
