Australia Cairns has a large Drawing on the recollections of a young Filipina-Australian woman, The Folding Wife is a deeply moving story about migration and cultural heritage exploring the external and internal landscapes that propel people to scatter across the face of the earth and the consequences it has for personal and cultural identity.

Contrasting the iconic imagery of a fierce and impenetrable Australian landscape with that of the resilient Filipina, The Folding Wife fuses rhythmic poetic text with the unique visual textures of Malila based Anino Shadowplay Collective. This Anino collective is a group of multimedia artists dedicated to popularising the art of shadow play.
