Trace: A visible mark, such as a footprint, made or left by the passage of a person, animal, or thing. Canberra-based photographer Beth Jennings, 33, brings an entirely self-funded exhibition of photographic work from countries as far-reaching as South Africa, Spain and the United Kingdom to Canberra’s The Front Art Gallery and Café in April 2010. She documents the places that she visits and the people that live there. Beth says: ‘Who can explain the connection a person feels to an old courtyard in Berlin, sand dunes in the Sahara or a field of grass in Toronto? It happens, and my role is to capture that connection. This exhibition brings to light our link to the landscape and the traces we leave behind.’
