Superman?gets a cinematic reboot in this upcoming film directed by Zack Snyder (Sucker Punch) and "godfathered" by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight). While a sequel to Bryan Singer's?Superman Returns?(2006)?had been announced, several delays and the success of?The Dark Knight?derailed the plans (which included Brandon Routh returning as Supes) and the project became a "reboot" with a new team. Hinting at a darker ender, screenwriter David S. Goyer says of the film: "We?re approaching Superman as if it weren?t a comic book movie, as if it were real... I adore the Donner films. It just struck me that there was an idealist quality to them that may or may not work with today?s audience."The cast: Superman/Clark Kent?will be played by Brit thespian Henry Cavill (Immortals, TV's?The Tudors), who had originally been cast as Superman back in 2004 before Bryan Singer joined the project and recast the role. Amy Adams is Lois Lane, Russell Crowe is Superman's dad Jor-El, Diane Lane and Kevin Costner are adoptive parents Ma and Pa Kent, and the awesome Michael Shannon (Broadwalk Empire) is General Zod.
