This event has now passed
‘The Naked and the Nude’ will be the Ballarat’s first pay entry exhibition, and it is an ambitious project. Taking as its basis the extraordinary permanent collection of this gallery, but augmented with important works from major public and private collections around the nation, the show will survey representations of the human body in the art of the last 200 years. The focus will be on Australian paintings, drawings and sculpture, but there will also be a number of European images, particularly in the earlier section of the exhibition.
