"Best Kept Secret"
I love Zulaz...it's eclectic and fun..but the food is serious...one of the best Lamb Korma's I've ever tasted and the Duck is something to look forward to...I can honestly say (and I've just about worked my way through the entire menu) there's nothing that isn't FABULOUS …

Oskars On Burleigh, Burleigh Heads

"Oskers. by Winedine Jack"
Service: Was very good, in fact very good. After giving the waitress a some what confusing order it was resolved in 20 seconds. The service was professional but informal. That is the best way I can describe it. Presentation: Excellent, I ordered the Oskars Prawns - house specialty. Prawns done in coconut, Macedonian nuts and coriander. It was excellent (and I am not a big sea food eater). The main course was a chicken Penne Pasta. Nothing short of excellent, compared to the Andiamo at Conrad Jupiter it was light years ahead. Delicate and precise. My dinning companion had the King George Whiting. Also Excellent. Food and presentation is the best I have sampled so far on the Gold Coast. Wine List : Very large selection, the best thing I noticed is that a lot of the wines you could buy by the glass, this is an excellent idea. Driving while under the influence in Queensland is very harsh, so to be able have 1 or 2 glasses of your favorite wine without having to purchase a whole bottle is excellent option. The desert wine list was also very good. Now here is the kicker, their prices were VERY reasonable and NOT over the top. I was very surprised and pleased. Value for Money : Well lets say you get what you pay for. Their prices for Entree ranged from about $16.00 to $22.00. And mains from $28.00 to $39.00. (If my memory serves me correct) I would say a tad expensive, but then again the food quality was excellent, the service great, and the location on the beach could not be better. For that special occasion it's a must. Ambiance : It was better than average, very clean and well spaced. Verandah facing the beach and great views. The feel good factor : I felt very good about it, on my way out I noticed several dining awards from the American Express organization. I was not at all surprised, it was very good dining experience. So I will give it a 5 glass rating. www.winedine.co.nz …

Burleigh Bluff Cafe, Burleigh Heads

"Generous Meals lovely service."
Great Cafe, Burgers, Pasta, Fish, chicken, etc. very generous portions, if you've just been out surfing for hours and are starving this will certainly fill the spot but for goodness sakes don't take Granny there she would have heart palpitations looking at the portions. ( I am sure they would adjust them actually it seems that sort of friendly place.) I would say there is nothing on the menu that is distinctly different at this cafe, and tried and true are fine, but what I do like about it is the friendly service, the great coffee, and the fresh wholsome food (where the whole table's meals come out together), is beautifully cooked to perfection. You will not find overcooked fries here on your plate. if you do, I would say it's rare for this to happen and maybe chef is celebrating in the kitchen testing a new bottle of plonk or something. We have tried Breakfast Lunch and Dinner there, at various times and in busy times and come away feeling very satisfied. Inside not good for wheelchair, ut outside and in arcade could be good for wheelchairs. Nice one, …
