Leap into the magical underwater world of SpongeBob SquarePants this Easter as Dreamworld partners with Laservision Mega Medisa to create Illuminate, a high-impact multi-media light spectacular that takes guests on an enchanting adventure into the life of the planet’s most popular sponge.
Brought to Dreamworld by Laservision, creators of the world’s largest light and sound show - Hong Kong’s Symphony of Lights – Illuminate will be a permanent fixture at Dreamworld with its debut Easter show magically transforming Main Street into a SpongeBob SquarePants’ fantasy and a three-dimensional peek at his underwater home in Bikini Bottom.
The show opens with a comic introduction by Patchy the Pirate, a bumbling yet loveable Nickelodeon Central character, whose job is to shut down the park. After mishaps and mayhem, he draws the crowd into a SpongeBob SquarePants’ episode whereby guests are engulfed, entertained, and coated in a real-time cartoon adventure using high-powered lasers, four-metre high water screens, special effects, pyrotechnics, architectural lighting, surround sound and digital image projection.
A celebration of song and dance, guests will dive into a jellyfish rave as giant marine creatures literally float past and some of the most popular Nickelodeon idols appear live in the surrounding amphitheatre.
Following the SpongeBob show, the evening will climax with a second powerfully moving laser show that combines emotional soundtracks with visual feasts of beauty.
The two-hour spectacular runs from April 2 – 16 at 5pm and is complimentary for all paying day guests allowing them to come all day and stay at night. It can also be purchased separately at the gate as a standalone twilight activity at $15 for adults, $10 for children and $35 for families of four. Each additional child is $5.
