Houlette gleans a mix of folk and early french-pop influences, featuring rich female vocals, interwoven with minimalist modern-pop arrangements and punctuated with bursts of dark intermissions.
This cross-styling of genres, filtering the old and new, brings about a sense of nostalgia, whilst maintaining a sonic freshness within Houlettes music.
Houlette launch their debut album, Bless Bless, with an East coast tour of Australia.
Bless Bless (translates to 'farewell' in Icelandic) will be available both as CD and limited edition LP.
Following the success of Pine Island, the bands second single release and precursor to the album, Tee Vee, stands as the band's most pop-sounding release to date.
Tee Vee is instantly infectious - peppy guitar riffs married with classic, driving beats and melodic bass lines, makes for a satisfying boy/girl duet. Singer Liam Linley's smokey vocals, set against the siren sing-a-long pre-chorus (sung by the bands front-woman Felicity Cripps) serves as a catchy melodic fulcrum. The chorus rests on mellow string harmonies; the result is a pretty pop song with an incandescent unique thread, setting Houlette apart.

Tijuana Cartel houses Paul George and Carey O'sullivan as co-producers, guitarists and keyboard
players. Regan Hoskins as MC & Daniel Gonzalez on latin percussion and a growing list of guests
as live feature artists featuring DJ Freddie FlyFingaz, Trumpet Player Shannon Van Horn and
Adam Dann on Djembe & Darabukka.
They have played at at Byron Bay Blues and Roots , WoodFord, Surry Hills , Newtown,
Caloundra, EarthDance WA,Groove and Grape, Peats Ridge, Mullum, Yamba's Surfing the ColdStream, Noosa
Camp Out & Music by the Sea Festivals as well as regular residencies and regional tour dates down
the East & West Coast of Australia. No matter where you are over this coming winter, you are sure
to hear the crazy Mexican Flavours and mashed up Phat Dancin beats of - the Tijuana Cartel !!
