Premium Swedish cider brand, Rekorderlig, will be joining MONA as the exclusive cider partner for the unique Tasmanian art festival, Dark Mofo, commencing from the 13th until 23rd June in Hobart. Celebrating the winter solstice, the Dark Mofo festival will showcase a range of performances, exhibitions, installations and events set within the heart of the Tasmania. Dark Mofo seeks to inspire a sense of community for all, through a direct experience of this exceptional Tasmanian event. Dark Mofo is an annual festival of light, sound & fire produced by MONA over a ten-day period, during winter celebrating the increasing light following the winter solstice & highlighting the seasonal beauty of Hobart. The core festival activity will be based around Salamanca, PW1 and Sullivans Cove with satellite events proposed for other venues throughout Hobart attracting locals and visitors alike. Dark Mofo will commence with a spectacular fire and light event at Salamanca. Alongside the Rekorderlig Cider bar at Salamanca Square will be the festival’s hub, the Dark Mofo Night Market at PW1 produced by Gill Minervini (Sydney Events) and music programmed by Brian Ritchie (Violent Femmes), with warming winter fare. The event will also include a headline musical artist and partnerships with existing events including the Festival of Voices. A MONA Winter Exhibition will underpin the entire festival and will open during the Dark Mofo event, running for at least three months.
