The Majestic Theatre is located in Pomona – the historic heart of the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Winner of multiple Tidy Towns awards since 2003, Pomona is a picturesque and friendly town.

The Theatre is approximately 165 kilometres north of Brisbane and a 25 minute drive from Noosa Heads.

The Majestic Theatre has gained recognition as the world’s oldest authentic Silent Movie theatre still in operation. Continuing in the tradition of the 1920’s, Ron West provides accompaniment to each screening on a Compton 8-rank pipe organ, often composing the scores himself. The immortal classics starring Charlie Chaplin, Rudolph Valentino, Buster Keaton, Clara Bow, Harry Langdon and many others can be seen regularly at the theatre.

Matinee movies screen most days of the week and a feature is screened each Thursday night. Now in its 21st year of screening at the Majestic, the famous “Son of the Sheik” featuring Rudolph Valentino takes to the big screen the first Thursday night of each month – an experience not to be missed!

Our licensed bar and candy bar are open for each screening, so relax and enjoy a drink and a nibble before or during the film.

It’s definitely not just about silent film at the Majestic Theatre though!

From comedy, live music and drama to balls, variety shows, themed dinner dances, theatre restaurant and much more … the Majestic hosts a range of exciting events to suit all ages and tastes.
