JURASSIC LOUNGE KICKS OFF IN 2012

Fresh from winning the FBi SMAC ‘Remix the City’ Award for 2011, Jurassic Lounge is back in 2012 with another summer season of after-hours events at the Australian Museum.
Dinosaurs and dragons will unite on 31st January 2012 when Jurassic Lounge launches its third season with an official City of Sydney Chinese New Year event, JURASSIC LOUNGE: ENTER THE DRAGON.

The Chinese New Year themed evening will see rickshaws, lanterns, kung fu films and dragons combine with plenty of surprises as guests usher in the Year of the Dragon and the return of Jurassic Lounge to the Australian Museum.
JURASSIC LOUNGE: ENTER THE DRAGON includes performances by stand-up comedians Michael Hing and Jennifer Wong (Sydney Fringe), live music from Morrissey-esque Camden and Melbourne indie-popster Yeo, and artist Brett Chan live-painting a papier-mâché dragon.
While exploring the Museum, guests have the opportunity to join Chinese lantern-making workshops, check out kung fu films projected from rickshaws, and watch a special screening of the Bruce Lee classic ENTER THE DRAGON in the Museum theatre.

Making a return to Jurassic Lounge will be the famed Silent Disco, the popular photo booth (opening night only), Jurassic Karaoke, live snakes and reptiles, and live taxidermy.
Entry to Jurassic Lounge also includes access to the special temporary Australian Museum exhibitions: the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibit, featuring the best images from the 2011 international competition; and Yiwarra Kuju: the Canning Stock Route exhibition, the Aboriginal history of the world's longest stock route revealed through paintings and new media.

Guests can also enjoy drinks from the Innocent Bystander Wine Bar, Little Creatures Beer and Cider Bar and Aperol Spritz Bar, as well as a selection of Asian cuisine from the Museum Café.
To keep the party roaring after hours, guests are invited to the official Jurassic Lounge After-Party at FBi Social, with happy hour-priced drinks and free entry for Jurassic Lounge ticket holders.

Every Tuesday night, after the Museum closes to the general public, Sydney’s best emerging artists, musicians and performers will take over galleries and exhibition spaces throughout. The summer’s wildest pop-up bar will showcase a different line-up every week.
