Before we hand back the keys, Queen Street Studio invite you to say goodbye to FraserStudios in Chippendale with a month-long celebration of art, workshops and performances for the 30 days and 30 nights of June.

Queen Street Studio & Frasers Property will launch this unique publication that chronicles the FraserStudios project and profiles the programs, artists, and their work that has been achieved in the past 1,386 days of operation. Studio 10 will be transformed into an interactive urban installation “Our House;” an exhibition of our final Visual Arts Residents’ work playing with the notions of family, domesticity and what it means to have, or be, a home. Featuring the work of Aaron Anderson, Lisa Andrew, Tega Brain, Tammie Castles, Li Cui, Sarah Goffman, Yvette Hamilton, Bronia Iwanczak, Francesca Mataraga, Ben Morley, Parachutes for Ladies, Eddie Sharp, and Craig Waddell.

Photographer Arunas Klupsas was commissioned by Frasers Property to document the FraserStudios project between 2008-2012. The exhibition tells the FraserStudios story from a unique perspective; capturing its many and varied transformations and the behind-the-scenes of the artists’ working studios and rehearsal processes.

A week-long masterclass series for independent artists led by some of Sydney's most innovative practitioners.

Kaz Therese: ‘Imagination & Memory’
Monday 4 June
This workshop will offer the tools for devising theatre work. Participants will be led through a series of practical exercises in performing, writing and movement scores that work to open and rupture imaginative worlds. 

Strings Attached (Alejandro Rolandi & LeeAnne Litton): ‘Up into the air or down into the floor’
Tuesday 5 June
This workshop will explore some of the movement vocabulary developed by Strings Attached since their first residency in FraserStudios in 2008.

The Fondue Set: ‘What about Me!’
Wednesday 6 June
This workshop will involve dancing and moving and talking and writing and dancing and shape making and shape shifting and more dancing. Bring a pen and a book for an inspired day of making and ideas.

Kate Gaul: Directing Masterclass
Thursday 7 June 
How do we create character and tell story? How can you inspire others and let something happen in the rehearsal room? Sharpening your skills in composing, editing and presenting clear and focused work.

Jamaican Dancehall & Reggae with Caroline Garcia
Monday 4 June
Reggaeton is the fusion of Reggae, Latin, Afro and Hip Hop flavours. The class will focus on movements specific to the Reggaeton style as well as hip isolations, posture and hip hop/latin dance technique and elements. 

Konga with Yin Chuah
Tuesday 5 June
Konga is a new dance-based workout that is a wild mix of different dance styles, boxing and aerobic fitness set to your favourite music.
 
Stage Combat with Sydney Stage Combat
Wednesday 6 June 
Stage Combat is an exciting new performance art that focuses on the study and practice of safe, effective illusions of violence, whether it be unarmed or with a variety of weapons, all for the stage and screen.

Bollywood with Ramona Lobo, Siren Dance Company
Thursday 7 June 
Ramona Lobo is an established choreographer whose vibrant Bollywood routines have been seen on So You Think You Can Dance. Her Sirens’ choreography includes shows for Optus, ING, India Tourism, British Telecom and the Maritime Museum.

We frequently cohabit space and time to explore movement through improvisation. The physical space often happens to be right here. And here we are again, our last time, forever dancing to celebrate with the FraserStudios community. 

Wrong Solo
Thursday 28 June
A five year old drew stories made from letters of the alphabet. These stories were drawn either as single letters, in pairs or as an ensemble.  It was in these configurations that words, sentences, paragraphs and whole bodies of text were understood.

Queen Street Studio have invited our most exciting ensembles, duets and soloists back to FraserStudios with the invitation to create a unique night of performance. Each Friday and Saturday night come and experience an eclectic mix of improvisation and performance installation.

Platform 5 
Saturday 9 June
The Weather Exchange presents a wonderful evening of short works by a selection of Sydney and Melbourne performers. The Platform series is set up to showcase bodyweather and related performance practices. Curated by Linda Luke and featuring Alan Schacher and Peter Fraser; Angela French; Dean Walsh; James McAllister; Justin Shoulder and Kirsten Packham.

Tin Shed Camping Tours
Friday 15 June
Friday night camping expedition anyone? Join Tin Shed and a host of artists as they pitch their tents at FraserStudios for some late-night woodland adventures… There will be ghost stories, campfires, sing-a-longs, cider and possibly some bears. Sleeping bags provided. Artists involved: Tin Shed (Phil Spencer, Scarlet McGlynn), Matilda Ridgeway, Tim Spencer, Zoe Norton-Lodge, Gemma O’Nions and The Miller Family Band.

Double Trouble
Saturday 16 June
Taking double trouble to new heights and depths . . . Expect cat fights, verbal sparring, love duets and a good old-fashioned pas de deux.  Julie-Anne Long and Martin del Amo are currently developing their first ever duet together (The Night Is Young and We Are Not). To give them some ideas, they have invited other formidable and stupendous double acts to join them for a night where anything could happen and most likely will . . . 

The Cardio Church Gala Performance
Friday 22 June
Presented by SMALLTOWN aka. Matt Prest and James Brown, The Cardio Church is a state of mind achieved by combining physical exertion and release with spiritual transcendence. Tonight the Church opens its doors to some of the most physically fit and enlightened performers in Australasia for an evening of original new performance works. Featuring: Smalltown (Matt Prest and James Brown), Lee Wilson and Mirabelle Wouters (Branch Nebula), and Teik-Kim Pok.

Whip It
Saturday 23 June
A special edition of WHIP IT - the impro event that keeps on giving. After years of practice, we still never know what the *%#^ will happen. Curators Ryuichi Fujimura and Nikki Heywood invite you to join us and very special guests for performance like you've never seen before, and you'll certainly never see again.

The Modern Social
Friday 29 June
THE MODERN SOCIAL, hosted by Anton is a dance social! A community dance event where no matter your dance ability you will be guided through the steps in order to do some of the very best group dances ever? Come and learn classics like the Heel and Toe Polka, Nut Bush City Limits, Strip The Willow, The Bus Stop, Zorba the Greek and many more, make sure you bring your dance shoes on.
