The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre is situated on the spectacular waterfront of Darling Harbour, a deepwater cove of Sydney Harbour. Bordering central Sydney, Darling Harbour offers a myriad of entertainment, dining, transport and accommodation options, and provides event organisers with a variety of promotional opportunities, attractions and alternatives for welcome ceremonies.
CONFERENCE, BANQUET & EVENT FACILITIES
Australia’s Centre of Events is renowned for playing host to the world’s top companies and international associations. From small cocktail parties for 100 to a large international congress for 5,000 or more, the Centre has the flexibility and expertise to successfully manage complex and high profile events of any size.
Many of the Centre’s smaller dining rooms have magnificent views over Darling Harbour, while the Exhibition Halls can be transformed into spectacular special event venues and gala dinners. The Centre’s two auditoria are perfect for opening ceremonies, award presentations or business sessions, while the 33 flexible meeting rooms are suitable for breakout areas or smaller conferences. Events are individually catered for by a team of event management specialists, world-class chefs, audio visual experts and support staff who ensure a successful and memorable experience every time.
TECHNICAL
Whatever the technical requirements, the Centre’s in-house Audio Visual Centre has the resources and expertise to make the lighting, sound and vision for any event a resounding success. Also on-site for convenience and service, the Centre Video Production (CVP) unit can provide television production, broadcast and recording facilities. The Centre’s IT team provides our clients with high-speed, high-quality data, wireless, internet, networking and video services throughout the venue.
PARKING
With 900 vehicle spaces, the Centre car park, is conveniently located underneath its five Exhibition Halls. Over 4,000 car parking spaces within the Darling Harbour precinct also provide direct access to the venue and the many attractions and facilities in Darling Harbour.
VENUE HIGHLIGHTS
The Centre is one of the first convention centres in the world – and the only convention centre in Australia – to be awarded the Green Globe benchmark accreditation, an accolade which recognises the venue’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact through a variety of initiatives.
