Very nice modern cafe with candle light dinners... heated nicely and cosy in wintertime. The food and service quite efficient... especially to eat there before a night out... not to mention very tasty. I'm a regular.. :)

After trying many places around in Manly as well as Dee Why, i would recommend this cafe for both its food (quality and taste) as well as the service. Recommended dishes would be the seafood plate, barramundi, scotch fillet, the penne. With my partner being a vegan, this cafe provided a great range. Something there for everyone! It's a nice place for dinner as well as lunch. I've tried the Big Breakfast a few times and that's great value for money. Highly recommended!

When in Sydney I stay in Rushcutters Bay because of this restaurant...
The gourmet Vesuvio or Mexican is the only pizza I regularly order, not cheap but you only live once... Fantastic ingredients, thin base, cooked to perfection, this is for pizza fanatics and not Pizza Hut goers.
Can't wait for Moseley's to come to Melbourne!

best dining experience @ Tetsuya's

This was a dining experience! No menu but each dish is explained as it is brought to the table. Food allergies and dietary requirements are catered for. I think we got to 14 courses the night we went and each was great even though there were a few things that I wouldn't normally eat. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgable. Will definitely return for another special occasion.

Chinese Laundry is a unique club. For once guys, girls are not needed to get in!
If you go on friday check to see if there is an event on. If there isn't an event it will be very quiet.
Saturdays: saturdays are the laundry. Get there after 10pm and cop a $25 entry fee which is quite expensive. Get there early and no-one is there and you still pay full price for drinks. I recommend hitting a bar like wallaby for cheap drinks and get there at around 11 when it starts to heat up. As you enter the Laundry and walk into one of the dancefloors, on the left playing the more progressive house/ techno, and on the right the more house/electro i found my clothes almost moving with the bass. Yes the sound system is incredible, most definetely the best i've heard in my clubbing experience, the doors to the toilets actually vibrate! The crowd is a young and regular crowd although considering you dont need girls to get in one would say a "sausage fest".
Head upstairs to the slip inn if you want a break from the constant sound, where you can chillax in the largeish beer gardens.
Definetely worth checking out once, or if you are with a big group of guys no hassles getting everyone in.

To get into dragonfly @ Dragonfly

To find dragonfly : exit kings cross train station to the victoria road stairs which are to the left of the darlinghurst road exit. On the first right you will see a young party crowd queue in front of what looks like an old movie theatre which the clubs name.
Dress nicely : nice jeans, collared or V neck shirt, and leather shoes. Rabens have been rejected although work for me. Make sure all your friends are dressed nicely aswell. And even girls a dress policy applies to you too so no daggy clothes, unlike many other clubs, and yes i have seen girls get rejected from dragonfly.
Having girls helps : bouncers could and will use it as a reason to reject you.
Dont be too loud: bouncers walk down the queue reguarly looking for any really loud and drunk people.
Warning: Guys if you are with girls watch out for the bouncers that walk down the queue and look for a group of girls. yes the bouncers will jack you for the girls so that they dont have to wait and you can't get in.
Get there early: getting there early drastically improves your chances of getting in. I've seen a group of 6 guys get in as they were at the front of the queue and dressed well.
Follow this guide and you SHOULD 9 times out of 10 get in. and effff yer its a good club. saturdays are best for 18-19yo's, and sundays for the older crowd.
