The French acrobat Philippe Petit thrilled the world in 1974 when he snuck to the top ofthe World Trade Center and performed the world's greatest high wire walk: unbelievably walking a tight rope between the famous twin towers. In revisiting Petit's story, director James Marsh (Wisconsin Death Trip, The King) has constructed a gorgeous, innovative and nail-biting celebration of a free spirit. MAN ON WIRE combines home movies, interviews and snippets of heist films to capture Petit's “artistic crime of the century.” The film also features stunning footage of Phillipe’s daring and traffic stopping walkacross a tight rope connecting the two northern pylons of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1973. This uplifting documentary was the winner of Sundance's Grand Jury and Audience Awards.
