Lecture by Chazzan Maynard Gerber

The History of Jews in Sweden

American born, Chazzan Gerber holds a Bachelor of Sacred Music degree, as well as a diploma in chazzanut (cantorial music) from the former Cantors Institute of the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City. Since 1975 he has been Chazzan of the Great Synagogue of Stockholm. In 1997, Maynard Gerber co-founded the Jewish Genealogical Society of Sweden. Genealogy is one of his major passions.
