A major exhibition for the year, Anton Holzner presents New Works. Holzner is recognized as a master Australian abstract artist, a pusuit where he has held to the principles of pure colour and form. Utilizing grand scale and perspectives, he creates painterly fields, powerful structural planes and vortexes of distance. His decades of output have seen him represented in all major Australian public and private collections including MONA. Yet here, his skills and palette have strengthened, the drama of this new body of work further challenges his previous work with renewed energy, demonstrating dramatic and heightened control of colour.
